Warning Against Fair Guide and Others

We have experienced in the past that our exhibitors are contacted by various companies about inclusion in various fair guides. Some of those we have encountered in the past are:

– The Austrian company Fair Guide, which operates the internet portal fairguide.com via the company Construct Data Verlag AG
– The Mexican company Commercial Online Manuals S de RL de CV, which operates the website expo-guide.com via the company Expo-Guide, Germany
– The Uruguayan company International Fairs Directory – MULPOR Company S.A. inter-fairs.com

These regularly send written offers of inclusion/advertisement on their Internet portal to exhibitors who have participated in fairs or exhibitions in OCC. The company has obtained the names of the exhibitors without our knowledge or consent and has thus unlawfully copied them from OCC / the VVS fair’s website – and the offers may even be designed in such a way as to give the misleading impression that the OCC / VVS fair is cooperating with the companies in question.

No cooperation with Fair Guide, Expo-Guide, or Event Fair

We would like to stress that OCC has absolutely no cooperation with the above guides. We have never supplied exhibitor names/listings to them and we strongly disagree with the companies’ methods. By signing an agreement with Fair Guide, Expo-Guide or Event Fair you commit to pay up to 20.000 DKK for 3 years of listing on the internet portals. It is of course up to you to decide whether you want this service – we certainly do not think it is worth the money.

The method used by Fair Guide and others is to entice people to change a mistake or update their address and/or company name, and thus get their signature.

We therefore urge you to be wary of such approaches.

Please note that other companies also use a concept that is confusingly similar to the guides mentioned above, e.g. EU Company Directory, World Business Guide, etc.
